My name is Clare and I have worked as a Makaton tutor for the past 10 years, running regular courses for parents, carers and professionals within children’s centres, schools and independent charities. I also run specific courses for Speech and Language Therapists, Speech and Language Therapy students and those applying for the training course.
I worked as an NHS Speech and Language Therapist in London for ten years until 2019, specialising in working with children aged 0-18 with complex needs, learning disability, swallowing difficulties and Autism. For much of this time I was based in a number of different special schools in 4 different boroughs around London. I have a specialist interest in AAC.
I am now based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and split my time between work within the NHS and Makaton training. I offer Makaton courses to parents, carers and professionals across the UK and beyond.
